About Sonia Beldom
Sonia Beldom is an independent celebrant based in London, working across the South East, creating beautifully crafted ceremonies that are personal, meaningful and memorable.
With a rich background in broadcasting and live events, Sonia brings exceptional storytelling skills and confident presentation to every ceremony she delivers. She began her career as a producer with BBC Radio, before moving into television production, where she created and produced concerts, large-scale events and prestigious awards ceremonies. This experience honed her ability to shape powerful narratives, manage important moments with calm professionalism, and ensure every occasion runs seamlessly.
Today, Sonia draws on those skills to design and deliver bespoke weddings, naming ceremonies and funerals. Whether marking the joy of a marriage, welcoming a new child, or honouring a life well lived, she works closely with families and couples to create ceremonies that truly reflect their stories, values and personalities.
Alongside her celebrant work, Sonia is a qualified psychotherapist specialising in solution-focused hypnotherapy. Her therapeutic background deepens her ability to listen with empathy, ask thoughtful questions and support people at significant life stages. She is known for her warmth, sensitivity and lightness of touch — qualities that help clients feel at ease, even during emotionally complex times.
A highly skilled and engaging public speaker, Sonia is also in demand as a media trainer, supporting individuals and organisations to communicate with clarity and confidence.
Sonia is proud to volunteer with Gift of a Wedding, providing special ceremonies for people reaching the end of their lives. This work reflects her belief in the importance of dignity, love and meaning in every chapter of life.
Professional yet approachable, thoughtful yet uplifting, Sonia is committed to creating ceremonies that feel authentic, heartfelt and unforgettable.
